Photosynth is a lot of fun

Michael Martine (not a Microsoft employee) says Photosynth, a new app from Microsoft, is really cool. On10 and Channel 9 have good videos too about this app that lets you build a 3D world from your photos.

  1. Looks like another fat-client application to me. Would be better to wait until it is ready to download to hype it.

Better yet, you could use something like the Google Earth API to make most of it web-based. I won’t hold my breath waiting for this to run on anything but Windows (and probably will require Vista at that).

    Same-o same-o.

  4. If mr negative is so unimpressed with Photosynth, why is he so disappointed that it won’t run on his mac?

  6. Oh brother, VR again, just with a social networking and ‘tourism’ kick up? Nice R&D, but as far as real world use, novelty at best.

Gawd, is on10 getting more and more annoying…hypersonic, over-caffeine stupid-questions pre-Cyberpunk-Billy-Idol-era-hair-styled MTV Valleychicky jump-cut host with a dull-dry-crumbling-bread, run-on repeating snooze-worthy Research type, jarring to say the least.
