We’re going out to look at Silicon Valley’s Christmas lights. If we find any I’ll throw them up on my Flickr feed (you can see a shot of Silicon Valley as we flew in this afternoon).

On other news, thanks to InformationWeek who named me one of the “change agents” to watch in 2006. Cool photo too (hey, that’s Eric Rice in the background).

This is also my first post that I’ve made from Windows Vista. There will be a lot to say about this in 2006, that’s for sure (and not all pro, either, although overall this is FAR better than XP, but then I had some help setting it up). I still don’t have Aero, though, but I’ll figure that out this week.

  33. This light display is small but amazing. On Curtner, near lincoln, on the right coming from 87/Almaden Exp. is a house with one very tall palm tree and dang, if that tree isn’t lit up to the top. Blew me away as we were heading towards my parent’s house. Out of the way, but worth a gander.

    I wonder how your new Smartphone works with Windows Vista? (is ActiveSync now built-in into Windows Vista or download..? etc)

    PS. by the way, so that you know: Dave Winer is removing comments from his scripting.wordpress.com blog ! He is totally applying censorship !

  37. If there were any integrity in the blogosphere, the following discussions surrounding ESB would occur:

    1. Folks would acknowledge that Sonic invented the term ESB but has lost ground to the open source community as ServiceMix (www.servicemix.org) has them beat by miles.

    2. No one would ever listen to the reviews posted by either industry analysts and/or magazines since they seem to never compare non-commercial open source platforms to closed proprietary products in their reviews.

    3. They would demand of all the conferences that they attend that the vast majority of speakers are customers not the folks from software vendors who provide thinly veiled powerpoint presentations chock-a-block with eye candy but lacking any substance. Customers have nothing to sell so having them present is key unless you really don’t have any…
