BIO:
Scoble gives you a front-row seat on the future.
Literally. He had the first ride in the first Tesla. Siri was launched in his house. He's been the first to share all sorts of technologies and companies with you, from Flipboard to Pandora to Instagram.
Today he's focusing on mixed reality, AKA "next-generation augmented reality" which will include a new user interface for EVERYTHING in your life (IoT, Smart Cities, driverless cars, robots, drones, etc).
That's based on his view thanks to his past experience as futurist at Rackspace.

SPEAKER PITCH:
Apple and Facebook now have revealed their Augmented Reality strategies, which means your business needs one too. Rely on Robert Scoble, the world's top authority on AR, to bring to your conference what businesses should do next.
SPEECH ABSTRACT #1:
TITLE: The Fourth Transformation: What's next in mixed reality (AR and AI) and the future of technology?
Here's an example of this talk at Leade.rs in Paris in April, 2017: https://youtu.be/52_0JshgjXI
Why "the Fourth Transformation?"
Soon we will have phones and glasses that do full on augmented reality. Everything you look at will potentially be augmented. This world is coming in late 2017 with a new iPhone from Apple, amongst other products. Microsoft is betting everything on its HoloLens glasses that do mixed reality and the industry is spending many billions of dollars in R&D and funding new companies like Magic Leap.
This future will be the user interface for IoT, Smart Cities, autonomous cars, robots, drones, and your TV.
This is a big deal and Robert will take you through what mixed reality is and how it will change every business.

SPEECH ABSTRACT #2:
"The Next Two Clicks of Moore's Law."
Over the next four years, or two clicks of Moore's Law, a ton about our technology world will change. Scoble will bring you the best from his travels visiting R&D labs, startups, and innovators around the world.
He views the world through his rose-colored-mixed-reality glasses, which will be the new user interface for self driving cars, Smart Cities, IoT, and many other things in our world.
He'll send you off with some lessons for companies both large and small.

SPEECH ABSTRACT #3:
"Personalized Meaning: What is Augmented Reality For?"
As we enter a far more technological world where even cars drive themselves, I predict we'll see a blowback toward the analog, more authentic world.
What role does augmented reality play in both worlds?
Get Scoble's insight into where augmented reality is going, see tons of real-world demos, and understand what he means by 'personalized meaning.'

Magic numbers like this exist elsewhere in GCal too. I am putting together a university-wide calendar for Columbia University and the custom calendar view tool caps out at 30 calendars. This forces me to have to write my own calendar view beyond this limit.

I installed the new Google Sync Service today and also had problems. The first few times, I tried Syncing, it gave me errors that it only works with Outlook 2004 or 2007. Well, I have Outlook 2007 installed so their version check is bogus.
I next changed the Sync Options setting to 1-Way (Outlook -> Google) and was finally able to get my Google Calendar synced from Outlook. Of course, one of the problems with this approach is you end up with duplicates in your Google calendar.
BTW, the syncing process is quite slow. My Outlook calendar only has about 500 items and it took a few minutes. I can see why they set the default to 120 minutes :).

I haven’t run into that problem yet but I’m now awash in duplicates. I initially had Plaxo syncing my Google Apps calendar and office Outlook and then added the Google Sync on Blackberry. When that happened, the massive amount of duplicates started showing up and no matter how much “de-duping” went on, nothing changed. I thought adding the recently released Google Sync for Outlook would solve that problem but it just made it worse.
I’ve uninstalled both Google sync products and am trying to rescue my calendar w/ Plaxo alone. Although, I’m still stuck in duplicate hell.

I had the same thing happen with another syncing program.
The Google folks told me there was nothing they could do and it could be up to 10 days before the system restored itself. It ended up taking about a week.
So, now I don’t use sync software. I like Google Apps alot, but the calendar is really not enterprise ready.

Of course, now that “they” have your data NOT you, “they” can make the rules.
Go ahead everybody, load ALL your data onto the web and embrace the SaaS model.
Nuts!

Plaxo and Goog not liking each other? That’s too bad. Plaxo has the benefit of synchronizing more than just Cal data – i.e. your contacts, tasks..etc. It does not sync to Gmail contacts yet (although I hope it will change now the Google released the API), but at least multiple Outlook instances on several computers are sync’d. So for now Google Sync is a non-event.

I tried to sync my Outlook items onto my Google Calendar, but only a randomized few made it on. I promptly uninstalled, but that doesn’t remove the items that have already been synced.
I wouldn’t recommend using Google Sync yet!

I must have been asleep under a rock. I did not know that this had been released until today and have added it to my work and home computers and finally feel completely synced.
Though I usually access my Google Calendar via a Greasemonkey script through Gmail I might change that if I can get all my applications to play nice together and sync all the way around.
So far so good.
