Interesting, Techcrunch reports that Friendfeed has passed the million visitor mark and has grown 10 fold in just the past few months. That matches my experience as well. I currently have 26,009 followers, which is incredible growth for a service that I’ve been on for 11 months. Now you know why I’m so addicted to the service.
For anyone new to friendfeed you should watch the video linked to off of this friendfeed item.
UPDATE: I made a mistake in calling “visitors” “members.” Louis Gray pointed that out to me, so did Jeremy Toeman. I have corrected this post.
Six years ago WordPress was born, according to Matt Mullenweg who founded and runs the company that makes it, Automattic. My blog here is hosted on WordPress.com and I couldn’t be happier. I can’t wait to see what Matt does in the next six years. He has a few ideas, as he told me recently in an interview I did with him.
TechCrunch is reporting that Twitter has raised more funds, this time with a $250 million valuation. That means that if you are one of the six million people on Twitter that you’re worth $42.
Sounds about right. I remember Kraft food executives telling me they spend about $40 to acquire customers (er, advertise). Congrats to the Twitter team!
