Two-word post on WordPress 2.7

It rocks.

Enough said. If you feel I didn’t quite cover the topic enough, leave a URL here to your post about why it rocks.

  1. For added kicks of the design, users can change the color scheme of the backend, write posts directly from the main page of the dashboard, and upload media without having to do so within a page or post.

In regard to streamlining functionality, the goal was to allow for the most capability with the fewest amounts of clicks.

  3. @Seo: You know what else is frustrating? Those pesky Windows upgrades. I don’t see why everyone isn’t still on Win3.1. Personally, after I get the TCP/IP drivers and a NIC, I’m loving it!

  5. With WordPress 2.7, the embedded YouTube videos don’t show up anymore within Google Reader. Anybody knows why? See the URL I put under “website”.
    Thanks.
Otherwise, yes, WordPress 2.7 is awesome.

  7. Back-end improvements are many and were badly needed after the 2.5-6 disaster in that regard. I haven’t upgraded yet, but will consider it beginning of next year if I find the time.

Glad to see that they listened to the complaints about waste of vertical screen real estate (they did some real world user testing this time). Get a detailed rundown of the previous problems (including screen shots) here:

  9. Im just starting out with Word Press for my site http://www.aviationphotographic.com I had started up on WP 2.6.5 and was pretty impressed especially after having gotten basically nowhere with Joomla. (Nothing wrong with Joomla – just too bulky for my application).

2.7 Really is awesome especially from the dashboard point of view, creating pages and posts is more intuitive, faster, and over all has a much more polished look and feel about it. End users / visitors of your site may not necessarily notice the differences. From what I can see it’s all about the authors / editors / administrators of a particular WP site.

WP 2.7 also seems to lend it’s self better to CMS type applications which is what I’m doing with it.

    In summary – It rocks!

  11. Agree…the UI is much better, easier to find things, not redundant in form or clicks. So far so good, let’s see how it functions over the next few weeks.
