My favorite company: Rackspace

I’ve been instead dozens of corporate headquarters. Interviewed hundreds of executives. But Rackspace is now at the top of my list of favorite companies. Here’s a tour of their new headquarters. They are turning a mall into a data center. Really great stories.

Later today Shel Israel has an interview with General Motors’ CEO that’s quite interesting too.

My plane is loading, so next time I write you I’ll be in Israel.

  1. Hi,

This may sound naive, but how do you produce these shows. Did you hire sound technicians and a camera guy? Who did your cool little TV intro? Does fastcompany.tv help you with this stuff? I’ve watched some of your qik videos, but I have to admit, this looks cooler. It’s really awesome that you can give so much credibility and professional appeal to a topic that you want to share without knowing someone in show business.

  3. Talking about Shel Israel in one sentence and saying “next time I write you I’ll be in Israel” is a weird way to close a post.

  7. Cyndi, these videos are done by two people: me and Rocky Barbanica. Rocky shoots them, and edits them, and did all the stuff you talk about. He’s a great guy, was a software developer for 20 years before going back to film school. We also got a LOT better equipment (especially in the microphone department) than we had before. That really makes a HUGE difference. And, yes, FastCompany deserves a lot of credit for supporting us this way and helping us make this stuff rock.

  9. I love when you visit companies’ headquarters. I hope you go back when its all finished. This was just as interesting as your HQ video for the online printer. More HQ videos.

You mention that Shel Israel has an interview with General Motors’ CEO. Now is that puppet Shel or the real Shel?
