BIO:
Scoble gives you a front-row seat on the future.
Literally. He had the first ride in the first Tesla. Siri was launched in his house. He's been the first to share all sorts of technologies and companies with you, from Flipboard to Pandora to Instagram.
Today he's focusing on mixed reality, AKA "next-generation augmented reality" which will include a new user interface for EVERYTHING in your life (IoT, Smart Cities, driverless cars, robots, drones, etc).
That's based on his view thanks to his past experience as futurist at Rackspace.
Best place to find Scoble? On his Facebook profile at https://www.facebook.com/RobertScoble
He has been a technology blogger since 2000, was one of five people who built Microsoft's Channel 9 video blog/community, worked at Fast Company Magazine running its TV efforts, and has been part of technology media businesses since 1993.

SPEAKER PITCH:
Apple and Facebook now have revealed their Augmented Reality strategies, which means your business needs one too. Rely on Robert Scoble, the world's top authority on AR, to bring to your conference what businesses should do next.
SPEECH ABSTRACT #1:
TITLE: The Fourth Transformation: What's next in mixed reality (AR and AI) and the future of technology?
Here's an example of this talk at Leade.rs in Paris in April, 2017: https://youtu.be/52_0JshgjXI
Why "the Fourth Transformation?"
Soon we will have phones and glasses that do full on augmented reality. Everything you look at will potentially be augmented. This world is coming in late 2017 with a new iPhone from Apple, amongst other products. Microsoft is betting everything on its HoloLens glasses that do mixed reality and the industry is spending many billions of dollars in R&D and funding new companies like Magic Leap.
This future will be the user interface for IoT, Smart Cities, autonomous cars, robots, drones, and your TV.
This is a big deal and Robert will take you through what mixed reality is and how it will change every business.

SPEECH ABSTRACT #2:
"The Next Two Clicks of Moore's Law."
Over the next four years, or two clicks of Moore's Law, a ton about our technology world will change. Scoble will bring you the best from his travels visiting R&D labs, startups, and innovators around the world.
He views the world through his rose-colored-mixed-reality glasses, which will be the new user interface for self driving cars, Smart Cities, IoT, and many other things in our world.
He'll send you off with some lessons for companies both large and small.

SPEECH ABSTRACT #3:
"Personalized Meaning: What is Augmented Reality For?"
As we enter a far more technological world where even cars drive themselves, I predict we'll see a blowback toward the analog, more authentic world.
What role does augmented reality play in both worlds?
Get Scoble's insight into where augmented reality is going, see tons of real-world demos, and understand what he means by 'personalized meaning.'

Scoble, in general, smaller companies that focus on one thing well generally do well. That’s why the Yahoos and Googles buy them up.
Doing one thing well is a good tenet to follow.
What’s funny, though, is I’ve noticed that when one of these nimble, cool, “do one thing well” companies gets bought, they suck a year or so later.
Flickr is one of the exeptions to this rule.

Hi Robert,
I was able to get in and test it.
To answer your points:
“1. The service doesn’t work. Says “Yahoo! Live is an experimental release. We’ve experienced heavy traffic and are taking a breather to tune things up a bit.””
Can you give Yahoo! a break? It was on NewTeeVee, TechCrunch and Digg. The service didn’t work for you when you tried it. It worked for me when I did.
There were some issues, but it’s the first day. I was able to get online and get a chat going. The problems I experienced were:
– Wouldn’t recognize MacBook Pro Microphone.
– Had to switch between iSight and DV Cam a few times to get the video to catch. Same with audio.
– Could only hear other video broadcasters in my tray intermittently.
– Crash the browser a few times
“2. It doesn’t work on cell phones like Qik does.”
– OK, so maybe they planned to have it work online like all the other streaming services. Do you also think Ustream, Justin.tv,r BlogTV, and Stickcam. are bad because they don’t support broadcasting from a cellphone? Broadcasting from a cellphone is great, but does everyone have to do it?
“3. It doesn’t record live sessions.”
I chatted with them about this and it will…
“Leave Yahoo! Alone!”

Qik is in closed beta and only supports limited handsets, correct? Yahoo Live is open to everyone immediately and is available to anyone with a webcam.
I agree that Yahoo could have scaled better in anticipation but let us watch it play out
I am still waiting for Qik invite..anyone? Anyone?

It seems that different live streaming services are better at different events or uses. Qik is obviously best (only) for mobile live streaming unless you want to strap a laptop to your back and have a head mounted web cam.
For live speaking and presentations which works best?
Etc.

Qik also only works on certain Nokia phones, but I called them and they are diligently testing the service on other brands as we speak. No release dates for other phones, but I’m hoping it will be ready when the 3G iPhone comes out.

@Michelle Greer That actually would be a cool implementation of allowing people to capture video with an iPhone, by using the Qik interface…

I am a big fan Robert, but I can not recommend your Qik videos.
The gittery video give me a headache.
Please consider a different service or just recording audio.

Robert, you can do it live from your cellphone, but the choice of phones is piss poor.
They’ve locked out the majority of the phone market.

PocketCaster from Comvu supports a ton of phones; flixwagon is another site for mobile live video. I believe all but one are closed beta.
Let’s not get all crazy about a closed-beta service partnering with a closed-beta service.
Also, day 1 of Yahoo Live, tough room.
I’ve used it for several days since launch, it’s worked better than it did, and I’ve figured out a lot of ways to do a better job as a broadcaster to make it more streamlined.
I also do use all these other services you mentioned above as well as others you haven’t.
We need to do a better job talking about technology by using it, understanding it, having a wider focus than the next five hours.
Man, I could almost do this professionally. /smirk.
