Who’s the idiot…

…who thought I belonged on this panel discussion tonight of smart media people who’ve done a lot more in their careers than me?

My prediction? There will be another new iPhone in 2008 and it will have a video camera and an open SDK.

Yeah, I’m not taking too many risks there am I? Heheh.

It’ll be interesting to see what kinds of predictions this panel, which includes journalists from BusinessWeek, CNBC, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, makes. PodTech is filming it, so will have the video up in the next few days.

My other prediction? That I’ll be the stupidest one on this panel. I’ll try to keep up.

  1. There’s better ways to get buzz. And for looks I can think of at least 10 video bloggers who look better. So, must be for comic relief. Thing is, I am not that funny. Which brings up the point in the headline above. 🙂

  3. Yeah, Robert I think you are the resident idiot for this one. The good thing is you will bring the buzz with you so they are killing two birds with one stone. (^_^)

PS. 2008 will bring a new iPhone with 3G, Video, and some more memory.

  5. Curious…they listed you as “blogger” and columnist for Fast Company. Why no mention of VP of PodTech? Isn’t that your primary job?

    NOT.

Please, get a grip on your ego. Seriously. Congrats on having conned a couple of MSM idiots to think you have a clue.

I’m just not sure that’s somthing to parade about like you just did.

There will be another new iphone in 2008. It will have a video camera.

But never an open SDK. Thats the fact of life.

  14. There’s a big difference between promotion and self-absorbtion. You may not care what Scoble has to say, but as evidenced by his traffic and invitations to participate in events like this, a lot of people do. That’s a testament to Scoble’s hard work and good fortune, and I don’t begrudge that. When he’s up on the dais, he’s there to talk about his insights–including what he’s exploring at the moment–as are all the panelists.

My comment was about some people who feed off that energy in a way that exudes self-importance. If you think Scoble is guilty of that, watch the video and get a study in contrasts.

  16. Watching the video only reimforces my opinion. Scobles “insight” lacks substance and depth. But then that can be said of the whole panel

  18. That’s fine, but now you’re changing your story. Your initial comment was that Scoble only said things that “help his self promotion”. I said watch the tape and put it in context. You watch the tape and say it reinforces your opinion that he “lacked substance and depth”. You’re pivoting simply to sustain an attack.
