Yikes. Reading the blogs Netflix has been down for 12 hours so far. Add in a bad day for Netflix on Wall Street (they reported first drop in subscribers) and I’m glad I’m not an executive there today.

Yeah, it’s not a good time to work for Netflix. They were down for almost 24 hours total, which is quite a pain considering I’m right in the middle of my two week trial. A few other issues I had with delivery are also making me consider at least giving Blockbuster a try, even though I was pretty sure I would stick to Netflix after the trial was up.

C’mon! If Kris and Thomas can handle an outage with the poise and dignity they did… You could do it too. It’ll be interesting to see if Netfilx has the intestinal fortitude to be as transparent tho. Won’t it?
BTW, whatever happened to physical redundancy? My A and B locations are 101 miles apart from one another and on totally different networks and I’m only now approaching a pre-alpha stage.
Remember when Wal*Mart.com went down for 3 days after last Thanksgiving? Oof.

Well, Blockbuster has a much, much better business model for consumers. I subscribe to the 2 movies system. I get two in the mail, take them back to the store, which triggers right away two more to be sent & I get two more from the store right away. So, really it is a 4 movie system for the price of two.

I was wondering why they cut my subscription rate the other day!

I never really saw much point to having a movie sent to me. Now if they want to start making it possible to watch DVD’s online, that would be kind of tight and a lot more convenient.

They do have an option to watch movies online from netflix. Just don’t expect to be able to watch any GOOD movies anytime soon. Hopefully one day…
