Damn, since Pownce opened up just a week or so ago I’ve been getting a steady stream of people who want to be my friends. Twitter is still ahead, but growing far slower. Just today I added another 120 friends to Pownce for a total of 839. More than 4,400 on Twitter and more than 1,200 on Facebook. Here’s an interesting interview about how Pownce came about.
All four of the social networks I’m on, Facebook, Twitter, Jaiku, and Pownce are VERY active. How we’ll keep up with all of these I have absolutely no idea.
I just accepted 24 folks, and I thought THAT was a lot!

At least we can say there isn’t a lack of competition.
It just gets redundant if you have a lot of the same friends on each network.
Eventually, after the testing period runs its course, some choices will probably have to be made.
My money is on Facebook.

This is absolutely impressive. Kevin Rose really milked the crap out of his TechTV fame to the extreme.
It’s still “yet another” technology. The new social tech coming out may be far harder to clone.
Still very well done, and super well promoted. Congratulations Rose.

Robert – what I’m curious about is the % overlap in your Pownce/Twitter/Jaiku land. My hunch is that well over 80% of Powncers are or were on one of the others.
This gets a lot more interesting when we see new faces showing up.
Also putting my money on Facebook, specifically for that reason…

Robert, I have been checking my stats on Google Analytics in the last few days and of the four social networks β Facebook is now first with Pownce second and Twitter is coming in third. I had also added a poll to my Facebook profile to see what Social Network people were using. http://tinyurl.com/287rvv

You should automate the process π I guess that accepting all these invitations takes some time and pollute all your email.

Good job linking to Mike. Mr. Malone is one of my favorite new bloggers, and being not that old myself, I am so glad that you are giving credit where it is so rightly deserved.
