Let’s see if this works. The embedded player doesn’t work on WordPress.com cause WordPress.com blocks all sorts of embedded stuff. Sigh. Anyway, come and join us. We’re there now.

What’s significant is I can record right from my Mac a video show. It uploads almost as soon as I hit “stop.” Then I can chat with anyone watching it (and you can too). You can watch on your mobile phone (if you have a Java-enabled phone, mostly works on Nokia phones). Or chat from there too. I can also throw up polls or photos too. It’s TV for the masses. Really neat stuff.

This was recorded on an N95 — it’s the Police concert in SF a couple nights ago.

  9. I tried using it earlier. I am not convinced unless Nokia bullies it into it’s mobile phone interface. I don’t think Nokia funding the project as an risk capital investor will necessarily translate into that though.

    I know as a Canadian we got this service geo-marketed to us VERY heavily earlier this year.

    It had debuted in November of 2006. They did get a lot of traffic having spent millions on the initial marketing push. But as soon as they pulled the overblown advertising campaign off, the users left too.

    This is the same type of service as Kyte.tv, so it’s a good marker of how long it can actually KEEP users attention.
    I don’t think this site stands a chance with all the money in the world behind it if Nokia can’t put it into it’s phone software directly and make people use it.

    What did I invest us in heavily? Organize the web. Much safer bet. Ask Sergey.

  13. Re WordPress trouble:

    I had a similar problem with other players. Then I learned a workaround:

    Go to Users / Your Profile and turn OFF the visual editor (rich text editor). You should then be able to paste code into your post. (You can write other text ahead of time in the visual editor, but you have to switch it off before pasting / saving the code.)

    Once it’s posted, you can turn the visual editor back on. However, you’ll need to switch it off if you want to edit a post that has pasted code.
