Photowalking 9: dream machines

This is my favorite Photowalking so far. We shot tons of pictures and video at the Half Moon Bay Dream Machines a few weeks back. 2,000 machines. A dozen photographers. Tons of fun. And short, too. 18 minutes. Rocky, my editor, had quite a bit of fun on this and, even, appears in the video a couple of times (he was shooting video too, so you get to see me working here and there). ScobleShow is getting a little less boring! Thomas Hawk’s blog post and photos of Dream Machines are up here.

Toward the end of the video you’ll catch PC Magazine editor Jim Louderback sitting in a jeep. Thanks for everyone who came and made it a great day!

Let me know what you think. Also, what should we shoot next?

  1. Do a Photowalk of the historic Presidio, the Golden Gate – the old Forts on both sides of the bridge. The rainbow tunnel, and the amazing views of the city from the North side of the bridge.

I lived there in 1984-87, and those are the things I remember and would like to see again (in Hi-Def!)

  3. Heh – how did I miss that. Wait – maybe that is where I remember it from… damn. Did I ever live in the Bay Area? I know I did!

OK. I got it together now.

Go to Bodega Bay. Lot’s of folks haven’t see that (or have you done that already?!!?!)

  5. Shooting pictures of people shooting pictures, with special sidebar features of those doing the shooting of the shooters, being shot and in the picture.

    Heart be still.

  7. Love the video! Great work Rocky & Robert! It was great to meet Rocky as well. It was a perfect day and a terrific Photowalk. As for suggestions for future walks: Bodega Bay, Tomales Bay, Presidio all sound good. You know there is an old hospital in the presidio. If we could get inside, it would make for some terrific photos. I love shooting old abandoned items.

  9. Hi Robert,

I’m from Austria and will be in San Francisco from July 14th to 28th. Do you think that there could be a photowalk or a blogger-meetup.

I would so love to meet you, Thomas and other geeks.

    Greetings from Europe
