Jeremy Zawodny, who works at Yahoo, is in China and he just wrote me and told me my blog is blocked in China.

I’m pretty sure it’s not you personally. WordPress.com is blocked over here. For that matter, Xanga and LiveJournal are blocked as well. Blogspot used to be, but was unblocked last October. Thank goodness for proxies (and that Bloglines isn’t blocked – don’t know what I’d do if it was).

Acc. to OpenNet one of the problems (among many) with leashing the InnerKnob is that the software used to do it is dumb as dirt. Could be due to criticism you’ve levied (or that we have in comments) but it’s just as likely to be due to a misplaced modifier. Thanks Cisco and Secure Computing! (Oh, just saw Mark’s comment. Er. There’s that of course.)

As mentioned, you’re clearly a threat to their national security. It’s all of those feeds you read, man. You KNOW TOO MUCH.

I was in China two weeks ago. I was able to read you (through my Google Reader), but I couldn’t get through to leave a comment. Aha! another way to block spam comments. Just send us all to China.

I tested the greatfirewallofchina.org with a few sites and it reported that they were all blocked.
Heh, it even says that the chinese search engine’s “About” page at ir.baidu.com is blocked.
So, simply put, the system doesn’t work.
“…this version 1.0 may report sites as being ‘blocked’, while there are only technical reasons for their unavailability.”
