So, PostieCon (a conference sponsored by PayPerPost) was among the most controversial things I’ve ever done. People really hated that I was speaking there. I got constant crap from my friends and foes alike because of my decision to speak there.
But, it turned out they didn’t have enough attendees so they postponed it to November.Β They asked me to keynote their conference in November. But I declined due to the arrival of our impending arrival of our new son. I’m turning down nearly everything after Gnomedex in August.
Robert,
I was really looking forward to seeing each other at PostieCon, but this is the right call. Your prior acceptance to speak solidified you as a leader instead of a follower, in my book.
We’ll miss you in Vegas after BlogWorld/PostieCon/BloggersChoiceAwards, but hope to connect at a future gig. It sounds like you’ll have plenty of fun on your hands in the Fall!

Our company can send a Montreal blogger out there to replace you for only 12k, airfare included. If you happen to speak with them again, please let them know. It would be in the spirit of payperpost and they’ll never know the difference.

I think you not speaking there is a good thing — whatever the reason.

Just because some people do not agree with the idea behind PayPerPost – myself, to a certain extent included – doesn’t mean they don’t have a place within the Blogosphere. Going to talk at their con would not necessarily have been a bad thing, assuming that each speaker is truly allowed to voice their own opinion, whether it be for or against such activities.

Robert,
My comments may be a bother, but I am scowering the internet looking for somebody to provide me the phone number to people at Postiecon, or Paperpost, or anybody involved with the Bloggers Choice Awards.
My blog, the Tygrrrr Express, was listed in the top 3 in voting in the political category at the BCA. Tonight, out of nowhere, several days after the contest ended, it dropped me to fourth, and took away between 1/3 and 1/2 of my votes. This is absolutely a glitch, and I know the voters of me, my family, and my coworkers were deleted.
I hate to come across as a crybaby, but how do I contact these people to fix the matter?
I emailed them tonight, but I want to talk to a live person.
This is not Bush vs Gore. It is trying to count several hundred votes at most, and it shocks me Postiecon cannot handle this task.
