“Day of Flickr:” May 5th

I got a new HD2 Sanyo to try out on the 24 hours of Flickr participatory event that’s going on on Saturday (thanks to Sam Levin who loaned it to me for the trip). I’ll be in Cancun, so should have some photographic scenery to add to the tagged pile. Too bad I won’t be hanging out with Thomas Hawk or Kris Krug or Heather Champ. Are you going to participate?

While we’re talking about Flickr, over on the Flickr blog I also read that Moo is having a party next Tuesday in San Francisco. If you’ve never heard of Moo cards, for photographers they are great business cards that you make from your own photography.

  1. Manchester, UK folks already had a meet going down that day, so we’ll be shooting, wandering and drinking and shooting more photos especially.

  3. Yes, absolutely. There’s a huge networking class & cocktail event for MS/Boeing/Amazon in Seattle that day, so it should be a fun place to make a fool of myself and go camera happy 🙂

  5. Mr. Scoble – There’s a nice restaurant within easy walking distance of the Fiesta Americana where I stayed a couple years ago has a deck looking out on the bay. SUPERB! scallops and iced tea.

There’s also a philly beef steak place run by expats worth a visit or two.

Good luck with the HD2. Look forward to the reviews.

  7. Robert, I noticed that you have been well below your usual quota of blog entries this week, and you sounded a bit glum/tired in the Guthrie video. Has the the week of travel, broadcasting, twittering, event participation and entertainment kept you constantly on the go?

  9. Just headed back south from Cancun a week ago before heading even more south. All in all, pretty nice trip. I’d recommend against the Krystal if you are planning on connecting to the internet and not staying on the 8th floor. You’ll have lug your laptop down to the bar area. When I go back, I think I’d actually prefer to stay in the city rather than the US style hotel district.

    Enjoy your stay.

  11. @6-ForSale… Non-hotel district ANY day of the week. Four Seasons without a doubt! Don’t think Mr. S cashed his MSFT in yet though (or did you!?)
