Reviews on iTunes needed

It’d be really great if you could write a review on iTunes about my show. My show has been downloaded millions of times over the past six months and there’s only three reviews on iTunes. I really would appreciate that. Thanks!

  1. That’s interesting. I personally go directly to your site, not itunes. It would be interesting to see how the user types differ if that data were available.

  3. I think that’s the first time I’ve ever noticed you ask for a ‘link’/’review’.

    I don’t use iTunes, otherwise I would.

  5. I was gonna do it anyway. eventually. you forced my hand. “Someday – and that day may never come – I’ll call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this justice as gift on my daughter’s wedding day.”

  7. Interesting. Our show has been around for over a year and only has…one or two reviews. People just don’t like doing them, or don’t realize they can I guess. I would love more reviews on our shows.

  9. That may say more about the participatory nature of iTunes than the popularity of your show. I still have a laptop with OS X on it (not my primary machine though) and I always look for non-lock-in equivalents. I’ve noticed when it comes to two-way interaction with iTunes though, there doesn’t seem to be much advantage.

I tried to download a couple of songs a few weeks ago. They failed. I went to the built-in iTunes area for noting such problems and found that several people had noted those very same songs as not obtainable weeks earlier. One week later, nothing had changed, a week after that my enthusiasm for the songs vanished.

iTunes is a best-of-breed application in its category, but behind it is the same lame inattentive human support that has infested all most all big commerce lately.

Did anyone notice that Gmail POP access was down for most of yesterday? Dozens of messages in their forums (Groups), not one response from the company. People called me at 1AM in a panic. I’m a fan of the company, but they need to learn to communicate with their users better (or at all in this case).

I’ll see if I can write you a review. If iTunes is working.

  11. I think you’ve broken iTunes. I get in, get to the podcast page, but from there everything results in “accessing iTunes Store”. I can’t search fro “scoble”, switch from the News to Tech tabs, nothing, and as I type this I get: “We cannot complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error has occured (504)…. Please try again later.”

I think that’s the same message I got when I tried to download those songs (and I’ve downloaded other things since then, so it is something specific to certain content).

So that might be why you have only three reviews. Are they all weeks old?

Oh wait… NOW it’s working. Gee only 6000 charcters to comment … this is going to be tough.

  13. Don’t you think the number of downloads is the review of your show?

Why do you want reviews anyway? How will they help you be any more successful?

  15. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I’ve never been able to get your podcasts to load onto my video iPod. I can sync them in iTunes, but when I try to load them to my iPod it says they’re in an incompatible format. Attempts to convert them for the iPod were not worth the time it takes. I just watch them in a browser. I’d really like to get them on my iPod though. Any suggestions?

  17. skatterbrain: weird. Not sure why it isn’t working on yours. I have to buy an iPod video and see if there’s something we’re doing wrong. My son has one but doesn’t have his cord here. Sigh.

    Frank: thanks, appreciate it!

Joe: because I’m sure a few people are looking through the reviews to try to figure out whether or not to watch.
