When Maryam I went to LIFT in Geneva, Switzerland, we got a great tour of the famous Swiss watch maker, Franck Muller. Some of these watches cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Anyway, my editor, Rocky Barbanica, went a bit crazy doing this video. I guess all those expensive watches got him a little more creative than when he’s editing the usual Web 2.0 thing. Heheh.
Thank you so much Laurent Haug for getting us this tour. Franck Muller’s USA Web site is here, if you have enough to buy one of their watches you’ll join Elton John and George Bush (they never give away watches to celebrities, they told us).

I bet this watch is worth more.
More sought after anyway. I will be in Switzerland on a transfer to hamburg in a July. I’ll stick with my Timex. It’s cheap and it keeps time.

One thing I found interesting during the Rolex tour is that they really do not address the fact that their wind-up watches do not keep time as accurate as a digital/quartz, etc. watch. The tour guide said it’s because they want a rolex to remain a rolex. It’s a brand thing.
Now if I could just justify a Rolex purchase…. π

Wow, informericals for free…find vloggers with cameras. Not half bad edit job tho…something time grants you, hat tip anyways. Even if product demo syrupish, ten-thousand times more interesting than the Web 2.0 Exec’s foaming at the mouth. π
The problem with Franck Muller’s is that there are sooo many replica’s, Crazy Hours hardly gets you a glance anymore, seems more faked than most. Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Patek Philippe and Breguet have remained more immune. Handbags and watches are fake de jour, you have to be a celebrity before anyone thinks it’s real. And Muller’s are all ‘art for art’s sake’, not that anything wrong with that, but know such going in.
