Productivity up 200%, Twitter is down

I’m off to my last video interview of the day, but lots of people have been sending me emails about Twitter being down — it’s already on Digg too. I can just hear the productivity of tons of geeks going up. I bet it’s less than a week before major corporations start blocking Twitter.

  1. Robert, I’m into this Twittering thing, but the problem is I wanted to twitter from a conference in LA this week (The CSUN Center on Disabilities Technology COnference) but I have been informed by a number of my blind customers and vendors that the signup for Twitter is in-accessible. The account creation requires a user to see the CAPCHA (the visual code input thing) for verification. There apparently is no way around it. Google has audio accessible CAPCHA, so does MSN, so do most mainstream signup services.

Can you tell your friends over at Twitter that they are basically not allowing blind people to use thier service. And I think it is one that could appeal to a lot of people in the blind community as a really easy communication medium. Hopefully they can pass along a workaround or enable a non-visual verification tool.

  5. I don’t care *at all* about Twitter, never been to the site, don’t care to hear the minutiae and minute-by-minute updates (or whatever they are.) Since I’ve never used it, maybe I should ask my boss for a raise since my productivity never dipped 🙂

I wonder how much longer this will be interesting?

  8. That’s the best headline ever. And I blame you, Scoble, for introducing me to Twitter and destroying my ability to focus – the cell phone buzzes all damn day, and I can’t … stop … checking it.
