David: yeah, I’m trying to catch those too. I’ve been reading every spam lately to check for them. If you notice more happening, email me.

Akismet does have false positives – howver, overall, it is a time saver –
If there was just a way for users to TWEAK it more to reflect their blogs’ algos, it would be even better.

It’s always catching me as a false positive, including here before. I’ll give you a test now, Robert!

I like Akismet a lot, though I do skim the filtered comments to see if something got filtered that shouldn’t. There’ve been a very small number of times that someone’s comment got mislabelled as spam.
It’s still a very helpful tool. I’m thinking that using it in combination with a Captcha would make it even more effective. (That is, perhaps they’re be even fewer of the spam messages that I’d need to skim if I used the Capcha in addition to Akismet.)

I’ve used Akismet for my personal blog for quite a while now. One problem I have is that it’s only ever displayed the first page of spam, there’s no link to review the rest. What makes me nervous is that I occasionally see reader comments in that first page so I wonder whether there’s more further down, forever lost?!

Akismet does a pretty decent job, but I would like to see its development progress a bit faster so it would do an even better job, because having spam in your blog comments is pretty much the worst thing I can think of!
I had no idea there were spam-bots trying to spam blogs before I started my first blog. So I’m really thankful that WordPress comes bundled with Akismet.
