It’s not usual when I can get videos up of two companies breaking news (Ning and ClipMarks) all in the same night, but here’s the videos of ClipMarks: interview with Eric Goldstein, co-founder, and demo of ClipMarks by Eric.
I’m off to the Adobe Engage event, more later.
UPDATE: Rafe Needleman has more on ClipMarks here. TechMeme has more about ClipMarks 2.0 here.

Ok, it’s easy to sign up but how can you quit? How can I delete my clipmarks account? Hmm.

Ummm… the plugin doesn’t give me a button in Firefox (not even hiding in the Customize… button/command well), and the website doesn’t remember my login, even after I check the “remember my login” box.
Seems more like ClipMarks 0.5 to me.
What ever happened to QA, people??

In the name of doing-one-thing-and-doing-it-well, go try Citebite.com instead. It is far more elegant, doesn’t require registration, and offers a Web UI, bookmarklet, and a Firefox extension. You just create a citation link and go use it however you want. No need for the gratuitous social stuff as that territory is well-covered by other apps that Clipmarks simply will not catch up with. Like their former offering, Clipmarks 2.0 appears confused and over-funded.

Citebite, ilighter, etc etc. There seem to be a million apps that do the same thing, and many of them simply do it BETTER. Sorry. The whole story of the lawyer trying to be a software service maven never happened, and true again in this case, probably never will. No vision, dude. It sounds like a complete stereotype, but that’s why they are stereotypes… true in most cases. Not gonna happen.
