Video from C5 mobile clinical assistant

Scott Mace, a journalist I trust, is writing for NurseWeek and told me to check out his video of Scott Eckert, CEO of Motion Computing, showing off the Intel C5 Mobile Clinical Assistant that got some press yesterday. He thinks he has the only video of the event.

Why did he send it to me? Cause he knew I have a soft spot in my heart for Tablet PCs. This is pretty interesting. Great example of why Microsoft’s ecosystem keeps Microsoft humming along.

  1. Great video. I just posted about this device on http://www.doctorsgadgets.com

We’ve been waiting for a purpose designed portable medical tablet like this for a long time. Looks like it will be a big hit with hospitals.

I’d still like to see a smaller, lighter version for individual doctors to carry around all the time. Like a PDA only with a larger screen (perhaps UMPC sized). This device looks like it could be used intermittently on ward rounds or by nurses on their drug rounds but it is probably too heavy to carry all the time (i.e. to replace PDAs).

  3. Robert – just wanted to let you know that Scobleizer (being one of my regular reads) is included in the SLANTT index.

(SLANTT is a discovery service that uses some Del.icio.us page parsing and the Technorati API to surround blog posts with related content based on del.icio.us tags and technorati’s index.)

    Anyway – here’s one example:
    http://slantt.net/news/scobleizer/adobe-enters-feed-reader-race

(That’s not a great one because those tags are full of a bunch of crap. Note the little [x]’s next to the blog links? That let’s you basically vote a blog out of the index, I’m building a similar thing to clean up the del.icio.us content too.)

My point is that if you look at the larger scoble index, there’s lots of blog cross talk, but not enough del.icio.us context:
    http://slantt.net/source/scobleizer

So – here a note to the folks bookmarking Robert’s stuff on del.icio.us – please take a moment to tag it!

Anyway, I put together slantt essentially to add some color to my own daily-read feeds (essentially just automating and aggregating tag & blog searches) and built it as a public app so that anyone can use it to (hopefully) broaden their horizons. So – welcome to the index!
