The Coolest thing at CES…

I think the coolest thing that many of the bloggers in the BlogHaus saw was the water show in front of the Bellagio tonight. Paul Mooney recorded it. It isn’t your standard Bellagio water show. It was a one-of-a-kind show done for Microsoft. It was a video projection done into the water show. Long Zheng has more.

I’m trying to get my own cool stuff up. I interviewed John Chambers, CEO of Cisco and the “Retrevo Gang” met with me and showed me the coolest stuff they found at CES (the staff of Retrevo, the consumer electronics search engine, will meet with me everyday for the next couple of days to tell me what they found that was interesting at CES). Those videos will come up shortly.

What’s the coolest thing you have seen from CES?

Oh, and answering “the stuff Steve Jobs is showing off later today” isn’t a good answer.

UPDATE: I’m not the only one at PodTech getting interesting interviews, Jeremiah Owyang is interviewing Michael Dell tomorrow.

UPDATE 2: Notebooks.com has a killer video of a DJ that is using a new DVD-mixer to create dance videos. I think that’s the coolest thing I’ve seen come through Google Reader so far.

  5. Roberto, in such a short blog entry you managed to use the word “cool/coolest” no less than six times! The first rule of cools is that you don’t use the word “cool.” It’s so Microsoftish! And that’s what separates Jobs from Gates, whose meandering CES keynote nobody will remember by the end of the week.

  10. Sorry Robert but I found the Gates thing you did with the other guys to be plain dull. I didn’t really learn anything new. Gates was in total control, hardly a tough question in sight and no real follow up. What would have been wrong with skewring him on Zune acceptance v iPod dominance? the facts are out there and would have been poignant in the context of what he said at the keynote which seemed (to me) to be little more than a rehash of last year’s presentation.

    I have to comment on Dennis’ feedback above about skewering Gates on Zune acceptance v iPod dominance. It is laughable that people actually expected that the Zune would overtake the iPod immediately on release or even less than 2 months after release. Heck, not even Microsoft expected that. Now, in 2,3 or 4 years it may be a different story…

  16. I liked the keyboard that is projected onto the table. I was disappointed when I started using it. It almost requires hunt and peck to work properly. However, as a concept it was the coolest thing I found at CES. Sorry, I’m too tired to find a link to it right now.
