Chuck Olsen was a videoblogger that was on board the Edwards plane too. He posted a video of some random moments on the trip — nothing substantial yet.
UPDATE: Sorry for continuing to post about Edwards. It’s just I’ve gone through my 450 feeds and there just isn’t that much going on in the tech world this weekend. Happy New Years! We’ll get back talking tech after everyone gets back to work on Tuesday. This week I’m interviewing some of Intel’s top technologists (rumored to include Gordon Moore, you know, the guy who’s name is on “Moore’s law.”) What do you want to know about Intel and the process of building the processors that are inside your computers?
yeah, i shouldn’t even call this an Edwards video because the reaction will be “WTF?” it’s just an abstract, between-the-lines travel diary. sometimes odd in-between moments can be revealing.
also (1) i’m so sorry to hear about your camera?! ugh. i lost a tripod an expensive headphones on the trip, but i guess i was lucky. (2) dan balz’s article rocks. (3) a general comment that some tech people unrealisticly expect candidates to be well versed on the nuances of web 2.0 stuff. no. edwards is well-versed on poverty and a lot of issues, and as a leader should, has hired smart people that DO understand social media.
all in all, i’m stil absorbing this trip too. it was great hanging with you robert and watch for more substantive video next week, most likely on Rocketboom.

Don’t feel the need to apologise for these posts. If anything, they’ve been some of your best posts this year. I’m talking from a somewhat biased viewpoint though, as I’m currently researching for my dissertation on how new media technology relates to politics. 🙂 You’ve given me some great content over the last week.
Regarding George Moore, I’d probably ask him about the recent trend for multi-core CPUs. I.e. have chip manufacturers given up on Moore’s law?

Robert,
Please see if Gordon will discuss the relationship of Murphy’s law in the devlopment of Moore’s law. That would be very interesting technical thread.

Robert, please ask Intel why they are so slow with quad-core processores for desktops and notebooks! I was using quad processors in servers years ago but still all that they can deliver for poeople is dual core.

Ask him about quantum computing. How long until we’re there reliably there and why we aren’t there already.

For Gordon Moore:
What are the silliest misapplications of Moore’s Law you heard?
Are any of your other observations worthy of Law status?
Moore’s Law is inherently optimistic. And it’s held up through dismal economies and frightening times. Are you an optimistic person? What are you optimistic about this year?
