PodTech moves on Ryanne and Jay

Om Malik’s NewTeeVee blog writes about PodTech hiring Ryanne and Jay and asks “how will PodTech make revenue?”

That is the $5.5 million question, isn’t it?

Hint: I didn’t leave Microsoft just to hire cool people. 🙂

  1. heres an idea (might not be a very good one but….. hey… no ones paying me ….) : why don’t you guys have a page where all the bloggers introduce themselves on video or something.

  3. Hadi: we’re working on just that, actually. Been running around getting things ready for CES, though. So might be a few more weeks.

    LayZ: you’re a very observant reader! 🙂

  6. Paying customers is the first step to starting a successful company. Of course, you could argue, that ‘cool people’ will get you those customers, but merely having ‘cool people’, is what happened to thousands of no-longer-with-us dot.commers

  8. Let me guess, Robert. You’re going to do in-show promotional plugs of products/services – the radio DJ model of ad-supported content.

  10. So wait, Om’s a content guy and he asks how a content company makes money?

Come ON people, _content_ makes money, always has, always will, and it’s not always with advertising. Techies hate this kinda talk. Sometimes, content doesn’t even care about tech.

But anyway, I’ve bitched about that one for too long.

Nice acquisition, PT. Good job Jay & Ryanne.

  12. Bubba: maybe you missed that I have a sponsor and PodTech has dozens of corporate clients. I plan on doing this for a long time to come.

Paul: they weren’t doing content before, just contracting with me to edit my videos.
