Did Time Magazine announce something?

I thought about linking to Time, but after reading all my feeds it turns out everyone else already has, so I decided not to link and my gesture/link blog is free of Time Magazine stuff. If you have no clue what I’m talking about, head over to TechMeme.

  1. I ran across this blog today and loved it. The information here is updated so often and the amount of traffic coming to this blog is awesome. I wanted to know if any other bloggers could give me some advice. I’m in the freight logistics business; I transport freight shipments all over the world. Most of my business about 90% is in the United States. I just started a blog for the first time and I was hoping some people could give me some great advice on how to run a successful blog about freight shipping services. I have been all over the internet and I have yet to even find a good blog that offers good information about freight shipping. Any help to get my blog out would be greatly appreciated. I could sure use the help. My new blog is freightquote.wordpress.com

I can be emailed at mastersvip@yahoo.com

Thanks for any helpful answers you may have on how to blog successful. Thanks Eric

  3. Freightquote:

What’s the story you’re trying to tell?
Let’s say I’m someone who needs to ship a bunch of things overseas (or get them here from China).

What will affect my decision? What differentiates your business from any other?

Why don’t you tell the story of one frieght container and how long it takes to get from, say, Shanghai to San Francisco?

Maybe follow a product. Like, say, Windows Vista CDs from factories in Asia to Best Buys in New York. They probably will go through one of your containers.

Tell us about the people who work in the business, too. Lots of them have interesting stories.

For instance, in Oakland we all pass by those huge cranes that take containers off of ships.

I’d love to have Thomas Hawk go up in one of them and take pictures of what it’s like to do that job.

  5. Same here … read it very-very early, before the whole world posted about it. For a minute I pondered blogging it, than I realized this will be the mandatory subject on ALL blogs be it the A-list or Z-list 🙂 After a while there’s nothing to add, just parroting each other…

(I could not leave a comment with my blog url, I seem to be on Akismet’s blacklist – trying from a WordPress id now)

  7. Robert, I’m joining your protest and NOT posting this news on my blog (though I think it may be on my Shared Items). I added a post linking back here so people know I’m not talking about it. But is talking about not talking about it talking about it?

  9. Oh, no, the second wave starts now … bloggers back from the weekend, rushing to post the “news”.

By now it must be really hard to write anything that’s not been said on the subject…

  11. Time’s article is an attempt to “make news” and draw attention to themselves. That’s all the “person of the year” cover is all about in any year. This year they are pandering to bloggers and hoping to get some Internet attention and buzz. Yawn. There is nothing new there. I didn’t link to it either. Not even with a nofollow tag.
