Thank the Lord for RSS: I hate the new Valleywag design

I really really hate the new Valleywag design. Luckily I’ll never see it again thanks to RSS. Good luck to Nick Douglas. Interesting that yet another blog star of the Nick Denton network walked away (Peter Rojas walked away and went to Engadget, which ended up making millions).

  1. Rex: yes. But it’s not my place to say. I’m sure the truth will come out eventually. He wasn’t fired, though.

  4. OMG banana babanana! Its both ugly AND unreadable! Let Steve Jobs teach that website something about typography! Hideous… Is that the Halloween theme or something they’re trying to emulate?

  7. Ouch! You aren’t kidding, that is one ugly design. But as you point out, that is the beauty of RSS. With some of my favorite sites, it would likely be weeks before I noticed a design change.

  10. I hate the design of most of Gawker sites now. I was so pissed when they ruined Lifehacker. Now Valleywag. And the worst thing is they don’t listen to their user’s feedback. The only great redesign was Gizmodo.

The funny thing is Engadget and the Weblogs Inc. blogs all look fantastic after redesign. Hrmm I guess there’s always been a subconscious reason Engagdet comes before Gizmodo in my bookmarks.

Also, very sad that Nick’s gone. Double the bad news. Anyway, thank goodness for RSS indeed.
