Jeremiah, Hitachi’s top blogger, moves to PodTech

In addition to Christopher Coulter, Jeremiah Owyang, Hitachi Datasystems’ top corporate blogger, just announced that he’s coming to PodTech too.

I guess this is a good chance to announce that we’re looking for a videographer and a video editor to hire too.

It’s going to be really great working with Jeremiah and Chris. Jeremiah is someone I’ve admired for a long time and put together an awesome Lunch 2.0 event. He’s going to be a great addition and can’t wait to see what he does.

Oh, you going to CES in January? We’re hosting BlogHaus I there in the Bellagio — it’s gonna be a fun place to hang out. That is about to get a whole lot more interesting. If you’re going to CES, drop me a line and let me know where you’re staying.

  1. Michael: Chris is going to help me with that too. But, yeah, we’re looking for someone who can make the total video experience better.

  3. Ah, yes. the penalty of the reverse chronological order of blogs. I read this post before I read your longer post on the anti-Scoble. I could have guessed from his video expertise that your sound-tracks were about to get a major dose of good practice.

  5. Man, do you really buy all the stuff you talked about in your blog ? or do these companies give the items you ‘advertised’ free in ‘exchange’?

  7. Robert,

Congratulations on hiring another great guy. Storage industry sure going to miss Jeremiah. He really worked hard in educating this ultra-conservative segment about new social media. I am sure he will be of great help with your podcast delivery challenges also.

  9. Good hire. I checked out many tech blogs to see where I should spend my time reading. I found Jeremiah Owyang’s blog is very informative yet he doesn’t just blindly follow the hype and break the news because other bloggers blog about it. I saw how he handled the audio podcasting at IE release party and how he handled the sensitive questions with IE team stars yet they adored him. He was so prepared for everything he covered. He even managed to ask his buddy to take care of me even he was running late.

Jeremiah is definitely going to add certain strengths to Podtech.net. He understands the community marketing and social media, as well as the Web 2.0. I am excited about all these good news.

Alright guys. I am waiting to see if I can make the cut to limited seating at Factiva Roundtable Discussion on Dec 5. With my web analytic and business intelligence experience, I like to explore possible Web 2.0 metrics in areas of social media like blog and wiki. This definitely will go into part of Web Science & Technology major in the future. Many existing analytical tools are built around Web 1.0 IT infrastructure. Everything changes when Web 2.0 is becoming main stream.

  11. Is one deep pockets paying for all this? He is going to be one disappointed nitwit when the whole enterprise doesn’t pan out. As I’ve said before, Podtech is doomed.

  13. Podesta: you sure we’re not going to pan out? There’s a long road ahead of us before you can write that story and we’re well funded. You might have missed that PodTech is funded by USVP and VenRock, we got $5.5 million from them on our A round of funding and we’ve been signing up corporate sponsors left and right.

    >Forty: >>Man, do you really buy all the stuff you talked about in your blog ? or do these companies give the items you ‘advertised’ free in ‘exchange’?

If I take something for free I disclose that. Everything else I say I buy I actually do.

  15. Podtech.net is in good position in providing corporate and business news and TV shows. Google YouTube and Yahoo Video are competing with home-made entertainment videos and shows.

Can you imagine Podtech.net can gradually becomes Internet Version of CNN.com? One day, around the globe people will watch Podtech.net for breaking news via Internet TV before they tune into CNN.com on cable TV.

PodTech.net is paving their way to the right direction as Google YouTube is making contracts with TV & Cable Giants.

  19. Bess, you are hallucinating.

Mossman, the world needs realists. There is a short supply of them on p.r. blogs. I consider it my duty to counter the superficiality of much that is said around here.

As for Podtech, there is simply not much of an audience for overlong, yet superficial, video podcasts about technology. I doubt that one can be grown an audience for such content either.

  25. Maybe I’m parsing things too fine here, but it seems to me that your use of the term “top blogger” doesn’t jibe with your earlier thoughts on the ephemeral nature of the A list and how, in the blogosphere, it’s not really about being on “top.” (no disrespect to JO, whose blog I enojoy). Just a thought.
