Office 2.0 conferencegoers get iPods

Buzz Bruggeman is staying at the house, attending the local Office 2.0 conference tomorrow. Tonight he came in saying “this is the coolest swag I’ve ever gotten.”

When Buzz says that you know that he got something very cool.

And, indeed, he was proudly showing off his new iPod Nano, which he got for attending the Office 2.0 conference. It has notes and stuff on it too.

But, don’t despair, the rest of us all get something too: Google is launching “docs and spreadsheets.” Oh, and the conference team is publishing a bunch of Office 2.0 Podcasts. I wonder, does Microsoft hear the Google engine roaring to life?

    I am not digging the gmail skin for writley. I wish they would give us a choice.

    Now if docs/writely would allow you to post to multiple blogs instead of just one, then I might just load it up and blog from there instead of going to each and logging in seperatly. It is a feature that I requested back in January.

  8. Actually, the Office 2.0 Podcast Jam is not officially associated with the conference, though conference organizer Ismael Ghalimi has been supportive of our effort. I launched it to bring the Office 2.0 conversation to people who otherwise might not be able to speak or attend.

    So far the podcast jam has been a great way to hear a wide range of ideas from other than the usual suspects. But now that I know I missed out on an iPod Nano by staying home and podcasting, I’m having some regrets. 🙂

  12. I haven’t tried to sync my iPod yet, but I love the idea about having all the program data on it. Pictures, bios, the program, etc.

    I have been given all kinds of useful and useless stuff. The nano has the brand on the back of the folks who produced it, and I guarantee you that I will tell future conference organizers about it. So far the conference is excellent!

    The recognition that we don’t live in an always on world has been quickly acknowledged. My take away after two great speakers and a a panel, is that in the near term we will live in a hybred world, and hopefully great apps will drive more great apps and our computing life will only get better.
