AmigoFishing? Brings cool podcasts

Why do I look at my referer log? Cause the coolest people link to me. Heheh.

Anyway, tonight the AmigoFisher blog linked over here.

AmigoFish? Hmmm, I remember my readers telling me that AmigoFish was cool. So, I read on. And tried it out.

It indeed is cool.

I am into digital photography, so did a search for that. That led me to the Studio Lighting.net blog and podcast, which let me to the Strobist blog.

This is the best of podcasting. People who care about what they do and are willing to share their craft with other people.

I’m gonna definitely do some more “AmigoFishing.”

Aside: Kevin O’Keefe, LexBlogger (a law blog) writes today that the best blogs send audiences away.

Well, the best search engines take you to great stuff.

  1. I wish that stumbleupon would add blog/podcast searching as an official feature to their toolbar. you can search on the “blog” keyword by typing it in, but they don’t have a quick-stumble on it like they do for wiki/photo/video pages.

Scoble- you should call them up and convince them to add it!

Judging by Robert’s SU URL page, he must get tons of hits in his referer logs from them:

  3. Robert, thanks for the linkage. What I’d suggest that even more useful than just searching would be to sign up, rate those shows plus a few others and see what kind of stuff it recommends to you. That way, you are both getting the recs from other users, but contributing back that if you like the StudioLighting podcast, you might also like Strobist. Everyone gives a little and everyone takes a little. It’s like a potlatch!

  5. Okay, horn-tooting time: I’ve been saying that the best blogs (and websites, for that matter) do the best job of sending people away for a long time. See here:

On the other hand, that’s far from an original idea. Who sends more people away than anyone else? Google, of course. That’s what they’re built on.

  7. Hey Scoble,

I’ve been cruising blogs lately on Digital Photography and came across this one. I don’t get the point of this blog really. Are you simply evaluating other blogs and podcasts? or are you commenting on things you find ‘cool’? I can’t tell. I’ve just set up my own digital photography blogs on Blogger at http://www.digital-photography-work.blogspot.com and http://www.www.digital—photography.blogspot.com I’m always looking for additional content and other like-minded sites to link to about the digital photography field. Have you got any interesting ideas for content? Perhaps someone could check out my blog and perhaps comment on what it needs etc Thanks, Bruce
