Microsoft’s video strategist on Beet.tv

Microsoft's video strategist Todd Herman is interviewed over on Beet.tv. Says that companies need to understand how to use the new media. He also talks about a new video project, code-named "Warhol" which will be Microsoft's YouTube competitor. This hunger for new content is one of the reasons I went to Podtech.

  1. Umm… the link for Todd’s interview points to Dare’s post on you and BillG leaving. Nice read, but I’ve got enough cognitive dissonance in my life right now without links going to someplace I’m not expecting… 🙂

  3. Gawd, Microsoft’s days are really numbered…low stock price, low morale, inability to get an OS out the door, ratholes everywhere else, and now trying to muzzle in on the new Web 2.0 flash-in-the-pans?

YouTube competitor? Bleech, why don’t they just get that everlasting Web 2.0 Ozzie and Ballmer checkbook out and spend themselves into a new hole. Actually would work better than trying to recreate the wheel, I mean MSN Search, Newsbot and MSN Spaces, anyone? Microsoft’s YouTube competitor, will be a flaming unsexy death, forever droning on.

How’s that iPod killer coming along, oh SPOT and UMPC round 2, I just can’t wait. 😉 And are people even still talking about URGE?

If one thing you can count on Microsoft to do, it’s fail…OS and Office used to be the saving grace, but even that’s now on thin ice. Even Scoble short-selling before his PDC 2003 hyped OS ever went gold.
