Have you done a Paddy Brown lately?
He was a fireman who died in 9/11.
Over on a Web site memorializing him, one of the letters suggested doing a "Paddy Brown" every day. What's that? Doing something nice for someone else.
Why am I thinking about that?
Well, I met Stephen McCarthy last year and turned out he was working for CNBC as a producer on the Donny Deutsch show. He called my cell phone today and said "I have something for you."
We met up and he handed me a DVD. On it it simply said "Remembering Paddy."
Tonight I watched it.
The first few minutes set the tone. He just filmed Paddy's phone messages. People calling him on the morning of 9/11.
It got worse and worse. Then Stephen told us about his friendship with Paddy (he covered Paddy when he was a video news reporter) and his camera introduced us to Paddy's family and friends.
Can you make a difference in the world? Why don't you try doing a Paddy?
I'll find out when Stephen's video will be on air (he thinks it'll be on one of the major networks in about a month).

I was given a “Just for Today” card by my wife and one of the things it suggests is to do something good for someone else and not get found out (ie don’t do it for the recognition or praise). Definitely something to live by, but sadly most of us don’t (me included).

I sang at Patrick Brown’s funeral.
I was part of the American Boychoir. Singing in St. Paul’s cathedral was one of the unique experiences of my life.

I saw the Steven Mcarthy tribute to Pat Brown last night shown in the local cable here in the Emirates. I had a rough night and felt haunted by the story of this great man. Being a muslim, I will be the first one to condemn any terrorist act, any true practicing muslim knows that Islam does not allow killing of innocent civilians. It hurts to see people using our religion for their own distorted agenda. God is great, I’m sure that Paddy is reaping the spiritual rewards of his dedication to saving and helping others. GOD BLESS PADDY BROWN

Well i saw the documentary yesterday and i was so touched and move with such a life. A life full of hardships and trials yet was not selfish. The way he handled his life despite of anything is so inspiring and the his death will always be remebered. I guess his wish to be known forever will come true cause all is touched by his life.
Rest in Peace Paddy 🙂

I saw the documentary yesterday.
I had just had a bad argument with my girl due to my heavy drinking which i have battled for years.
My father was also a marine in Vietnam.
Something reached in my soul while watching perhaps the hand of God and for a 39year old man siting there in tears. It was an amazing experience it was almost like I knew him.I have been inspired to really make an effort in all aspects of my life
What a life what a MAN

The rights to show Finding Paddy in the US are owned until Sept. 2009 by a media outlet that so far has not shown it. At that point the director can resume the rights and get it shown here. There is also a book, Miss You, Pat: Collected Memories of NY’s Bravest of the Brave,Captain Patrick J. Brown, that just came out.

Far as I know, just audio available now. The director is Steven McCarthy, so if you contacted him he might have a way to get you a copy.
