BIO:
Scoble gives you a front-row seat on the future.
Literally. He had the first ride in the first Tesla. Siri was launched in his house. He's been the first to share all sorts of technologies and companies with you, from Flipboard to Pandora to Instagram.
Today he's focusing on mixed reality, AKA "next-generation augmented reality" which will include a new user interface for EVERYTHING in your life (IoT, Smart Cities, driverless cars, robots, drones, etc).
That's based on his view thanks to his past experience as futurist at Rackspace.
Best place to find Scoble? On his Facebook profile at https://www.facebook.com/RobertScoble
He has been a technology blogger since 2000, was one of five people who built Microsoft's Channel 9 video blog/community, worked at Fast Company Magazine running its TV efforts, and has been part of technology media businesses since 1993.

SPEAKER PITCH:
Apple and Facebook now have revealed their Augmented Reality strategies, which means your business needs one too. Rely on Robert Scoble, the world's top authority on AR, to bring to your conference what businesses should do next.
SPEECH ABSTRACT #1:
TITLE: The Fourth Transformation: What's next in mixed reality (AR and AI) and the future of technology?
Here's an example of this talk at Leade.rs in Paris in April, 2017: https://youtu.be/52_0JshgjXI
Why "the Fourth Transformation?"
Soon we will have phones and glasses that do full on augmented reality. Everything you look at will potentially be augmented. This world is coming in late 2017 with a new iPhone from Apple, amongst other products. Microsoft is betting everything on its HoloLens glasses that do mixed reality and the industry is spending many billions of dollars in R&D and funding new companies like Magic Leap.
This future will be the user interface for IoT, Smart Cities, autonomous cars, robots, drones, and your TV.
This is a big deal and Robert will take you through what mixed reality is and how it will change every business.

SPEECH ABSTRACT #2:
"The Next Two Clicks of Moore's Law."
Over the next four years, or two clicks of Moore's Law, a ton about our technology world will change. Scoble will bring you the best from his travels visiting R&D labs, startups, and innovators around the world.
He views the world through his rose-colored-mixed-reality glasses, which will be the new user interface for self driving cars, Smart Cities, IoT, and many other things in our world.
He'll send you off with some lessons for companies both large and small.
++++++++
SPEECH ABSTRACT #3:
"Personalized Meaning: What is Augmented Reality For?"
As we enter a far more technological world where even cars drive themselves, I predict we'll see a blowback toward the analog, more authentic world.
What role does augmented reality play in both worlds?
Get Scoble's insight into where augmented reality is going, see tons of real-world demos, and understand what he means by 'personalized meaning.'

Robert,
When I mentioned that I love to watch Channel 9 videos, Jim hinted that something really cool, related to Channel 9, will be coming in February.
Any clues for us?
Thanks,
John

So bascially another “friends of Scoble” dinner, just like the “randomly selected” search champs that includes a lot of the same people from last year.
So apparently, Microsoft *is* listening to *a* community. It just so happens that everyone in the community is friends with Scoble.
Plus “A flock developer” and “Tara Hunt”. Not really a big stretch to get those two together it seems. And Beth Goza, you mean formerlly of Microsofts Beth Goza? Isn’t she dating or married to PT? (Why in the hell do I remember these things, but I keep forgetting to call my broker?) Hmmmmmmm, did Thomas get to invite his SO at least? hehe
Hey, I’ve got an idea. For the next dinner with Alchin, how about if you just walk around downtown Seattle or San Francisico and ask people if they are interested in Windows and would like a free dinner.

John: nah, but it will be good.
Scott: I’m not friends with Mena. I think I’ve talked with her a total of maybe 60 minutes in my life. Same with Tara. Same with Chris. Same with Tony. They are, however, people I look up to and read a lot and people who don’t come to my comments and leave posts like yours that don’t have many facts behind them.
Regarding Search Champs. There were more than 60 people there this time. Only four were at the first Search Champs which wasn’t even two years ago. So that invalidates your whole point. Have a nice day.

Curses, foiled again!
Which facts did I miss? I’ll correct my database of useless knowledge, which seems to be larger than my database of important stuff.

Thanks for suggesting me, Robert. I was truly honored.
Your trolls are really bitter, but you handle them well. Oh…I guess here is me leaving a comment. 😉
Jim was pretty great at handling my (after too many glasses of wine so I was feeling rogue-ish) questions. I still wish someone would at least support the fight, if not take it up with DRM. The fact that MS is actually engaging in that conversation is impressive to me.
Thanks again!

Beth Goza of Linden Labs…whoa, missed that news. She left Microsoft and your stock didn’t immediately jump up 40%? 😉 To think I was the biggest Microsoft fanboy, until her thin-skinned revenge-mode kicked-in per the parody, and she went weirded out and her hubby went on a stalking warpath, she misread me, I was a total giggly-Mobius fanboy back then. Tried to apologize 50 million times, yet cause of the fuss, it spread like wildfire, spawning copies on sites I had no control over, it became immortal. PR lesson there, done zillions of parodies, most with not even a 2 day impact, most all lost to time, stir up a stink, it lives on forever. Ahh well, all is past, Sorry, hope I am forgiven.

Hey Robert, this was a really interesting and satisfying experience. I’ve not had a whole lot of interaction with Microsoft folks in recent memory, not necessary on purpose, but because our communities are so polarized (owing to history, etc that precedes me).
I might be an idiot for saying this, but we really just need tools that work — and I don’t care if that means that they come from someone other than Microsoft or not. If there are things that we can learn from each other, hell, what’s wrong with that?
Overall, Jim was really candid about most topics — even admitting that the Vista beta program took a lot of inspiration from the open source community. I mean, hey sure, you guys got a ways to go but you’re getting there! 😉
With folks like you, Robert, pushing for more transparency @ MSFT, gee, we might someday lose the ability to argue about you guys being all closed up and stuff. We’d have to turn our laser-like attention on more… opaque fruity companies instead! (We’d still humbug about your monopoly and whatnot, but that comes with the territory).

So a “friends of Scoble” dinner…yeah, or people he wants to influence.
But you are reading too much into this and too jealous, it’s just Allchin on a I-am-wearing-turtlenecks-now-retire-out-marketing-legacy wax on and wax off tour. I am sure he has tons of other dinners with real Analysts, CIOs, VIPs and Journos and other people who actually matter. Just Scoble’s turn came up and he self-markets it for all it’s worth, zapping in the power of the blogs, when it’s all about him being the ‘connector’ and the ‘be nice to me, suck-up, and I might be able to swish you in’.
It’s just star-struck marketing. Jim pretends to listen, not that could do anything about this late in game, letting people rant and scream, agreeing with, saying stuff like “I see your point” and “we should look into that”, and then fires up the Vista eye-candy for a choke-hold. And the bloggers walk away thinking they made an impact, by talking with the biggie man, but the real goal is to dog and pony up Vista.
