BIO:
Scoble gives you a front-row seat on the future.
Literally. He had the first ride in the first Tesla. Siri was launched in his house. He's been the first to share all sorts of technologies and companies with you, from Flipboard to Pandora to Instagram.
Today he's focusing on mixed reality, AKA "next-generation augmented reality" which will include a new user interface for EVERYTHING in your life (IoT, Smart Cities, driverless cars, robots, drones, etc).
That's based on his view thanks to his past experience as futurist at Rackspace.
Best place to find Scoble? On his Facebook profile at https://www.facebook.com/RobertScoble
He has been a technology blogger since 2000, was one of five people who built Microsoft's Channel 9 video blog/community, worked at Fast Company Magazine running its TV efforts, and has been part of technology media businesses since 1993.

SPEAKER PITCH:
Apple and Facebook now have revealed their Augmented Reality strategies, which means your business needs one too. Rely on Robert Scoble, the world's top authority on AR, to bring to your conference what businesses should do next.
SPEECH ABSTRACT #1:
TITLE: The Fourth Transformation: What's next in mixed reality (AR and AI) and the future of technology?
Here's an example of this talk at Leade.rs in Paris in April, 2017: https://youtu.be/52_0JshgjXI
Why "the Fourth Transformation?"
Soon we will have phones and glasses that do full on augmented reality. Everything you look at will potentially be augmented. This world is coming in late 2017 with a new iPhone from Apple, amongst other products. Microsoft is betting everything on its HoloLens glasses that do mixed reality and the industry is spending many billions of dollars in R&D and funding new companies like Magic Leap.
This future will be the user interface for IoT, Smart Cities, autonomous cars, robots, drones, and your TV.
This is a big deal and Robert will take you through what mixed reality is and how it will change every business.

SPEECH ABSTRACT #2:
"The Next Two Clicks of Moore's Law."
Over the next four years, or two clicks of Moore's Law, a ton about our technology world will change. Scoble will bring you the best from his travels visiting R&D labs, startups, and innovators around the world.
He views the world through his rose-colored-mixed-reality glasses, which will be the new user interface for self driving cars, Smart Cities, IoT, and many other things in our world.
He'll send you off with some lessons for companies both large and small.
++++++++
SPEECH ABSTRACT #3:
"Personalized Meaning: What is Augmented Reality For?"
As we enter a far more technological world where even cars drive themselves, I predict we'll see a blowback toward the analog, more authentic world.
What role does augmented reality play in both worlds?
Get Scoble's insight into where augmented reality is going, see tons of real-world demos, and understand what he means by 'personalized meaning.'

Ouch — next time I won’t email you, I’ll just call you 😉
I’ll check out the Sparkle video. Microsoft may not be seen as a good vendor in this space; but Visual Studio / WPF developers need a default tool for building vector graphics — I hope Sparkle fills this role (and at a good price).

I doubt the marketplace will be committed to Sparkle motion. Why develop for something that the Borg is going to incorporate into their product in the next release cycle?
Also what’s wrong with PDF? It is a perfectly fine open format. There’s 3rd party support for it. With the new LiveCycle stuff (mainly workflow) Adobe’s miles ahead of MSFT on this. See Adobe’s blogs for some demos.

John pretty much nailed it. It’s the Internet, and there is no room for more Windows-only technologies. Better luck next time…

You may not have seen this if you didn’t follow my trackback (understandable), but a great alternative to Sparkle is Flex Builder – http://labs.macromedia.com/technologies/flexbuilder2/ – it creates Flash, which means it’s cross-browser, cross-platform and it does everything Sparkle does. You can download the alpha now but there’s a public beta on the way soon.

Hey Robert?
When you start building Enterprise – Level web infrastructures on an Xbox, you just let me know.
Or do we REALLY need to explain in small words the difference between a game console and an IDE?

Enterprise-Level? Heh, two words to make Scoble’s eye’s glaze over. Not that MBS, now rebranded Dynamics, has much to yam up. Great Plains, Axapta, Navision, Solomon, CRM, whew…what a confusing strategy and roadmap, supposedly morphing into this all vague utopian Project Green.
And I don’t think I have EVER heard Scoble even MENTION Convergence, and now’s the time to hype it up. Unbelieveable that they are STILL having Doug Burgum keynote tho, I mean after chopping his head off and all.
I think I have heard “We didn’t sell that story right…” about MBS a million times. Convergence, March 25-28 in Dallas, like take note…I think just casually I have seemingly informed more Press than all of whatever Marketing team you guys have for that group.

You clowns have been stewing in your own juices for WAY too long.
Try the following exercise: go through the Quartz Composer examples that come with Apple’s developer tools. Then tell me how long any of them would take to duplicate with Sparkle.
Now you know what to do for the next six years.

I gotta agree with most of the posters here.
It’s really sad to sit and listen to these guys proudly describe the “revolutionary” and “unique” features of their product. Are they completely clueless or are they just marketing their product?
AFAICT there’s nothing in Sparkle that I haven’t been able to with existing products for ages. Live design time data (“one of the most unique things” I believe they called it)? Been doing that in Delphi since version 1 – that’s over ten years ago.

The Web: Working hard or hardly working?
CHICAGO, Jan. 25 (UPI) — Are you wasting time when online? Or working? A new study released this week showed that about 20 percent of government staff, while on the job, in one Malaysian state utilized the Internet for purely personal activities — like downloading porn, games and music. This was one of the main causes of poor work performance in the Johor state, Bernama, the state news agency there said, quoting a top government official, Norsiah Harun.
Experts tell United Press International’s The Web that the Internet productivity problem is global, and that cultural changes are needed to ensure that people are hard at work, rather than hardly working, as our parents’ generation used to say. By Gene Koprowski

I don’t think sparkle is aimed at web development at all, like so many people here think. It isn’t aimed at print design either, so the whole Acrobat PDF comment is fairly out of place as well. In fact, PDF has nothing to do what-so-ever with the space that Sparkle targets.
What I got from this interview was that an application has been developed to connect application UX designers with application logic developers, using VSTS as the basis for connectivity and collaboration. Pretty damn simple to understand I would have thought.
The really cool thing is that you can utilise any of the exposed user functionality in the code to generate UX. Designers can probably utilise components in ways the developers never intended and this can be immediately demonstrated back to the devs.
Clearly people here haven’t fully grasped this application’s capabilities and instead looked on it as doing the same thing as other design apps.
The great thing also is that this application isn’t about one particular language (ie. Delphi, lol). Ima gonna trust that these guys aren’t as stupid as some of the people making the comments in this forum and give them the benefit of any doubt. Of course, once the product is out there and people are using it and comparing it, there won’t be any doubt.

This looks like a Windows-only Macromedia Flex imitation.
So while Flex apps can be made in Windows, Mac and Linux and can be viewed on Windows, Mac and Linux, Sparkle is limited to Windows only creation and display.
And Flash plug-ins are already deployed to a majority of browsers on every platform.
Tell me again why I’d want to use this?
