Folks who know Raymond Chen, famous Windows programmer, well know that he enjoys crochet knitting (when we do local geek dinners he’s often seen stitching). So, when Nancy Folsom sent me this blog on “What Not to Crochet” a few moments ago I knew I had to point it out.

I guess there’ll be a blog for every niche. Or is that stitch?

  17. Anyway, knitting is very cool especially when women do it, but I was wondering if you would blog about something important like Microsoft/MSN releasing its customers’ search data to the feds.

    Is it true Microsoft/MSN provided all queries that were made by its customers over a two month period?

    Please try and get Raymond Chen to do a channel 9 video!!!! (I know you have uploaded his PDC video, but that does not count as a face-to-face interview).

  27. In a CNN interview with Mena Trott, she points out that knit blogging is a huge phenomenon, one that would be surprising only to those that don’t knit. (http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/internet/08/10/mena.trott/)

    I know my girlfriend’s knit gets a lot more visits and comments than my own blog. As blogging tools make it easier to set up communities, those communities with a high social/interactive component will (continue to) flourish online.

    Boys knit too. It’s like compiling string into a complex, interdependent garment. Eminently practical.
