Heheh, Stephen Streight is the first retail customer of our book that we know about (says he liked the book better than the blog too!). That’s great cause he was one of our top participants on the blog. If you see it on the book shelf, we’d love pictures!

Literally. He had the first ride in the first Tesla. Siri was launched in his house. He's been the first to share all sorts of technologies and companies with you, from Flipboard to Pandora to Instagram. Today he's focusing on mixed reality, AKA "next-generation augmented reality" which will include a new user interface for EVERYTHING in your life (IoT, Smart Cities, driverless cars, robots, drones, etc). That's based on his view thanks to his past experience as futurist at Rackspace. Best place to find Scoble? On his Facebook profile at https://www.facebook.com/RobertScoble He has been a technology blogger since 2000, was one of five people who built Microsoft's Channel 9 video blog/community, worked at Fast Company Magazine running its TV efforts, and has been part of technology media businesses since 1993. ++++++++ SPEAKER PITCH: Apple and Facebook now have revealed their Augmented Reality strategies, which means your business needs one too. Rely on Robert Scoble, the world's top authority on AR, to bring to your conference what businesses should do next. SPEECH ABSTRACT #1: TITLE: The Fourth Transformation: What's next in mixed reality (AR and AI) and the future of technology? Here's an example of this talk at Leade.rs in Paris in April, 2017: https://youtu.be/52_0JshgjXI Why "the Fourth Transformation?" Soon we will have phones and glasses that do full on augmented reality. Everything you look at will potentially be augmented. This world is coming in late 2017 with a new iPhone from Apple, amongst other products. Microsoft is betting everything on its HoloLens glasses that do mixed reality and the industry is spending many billions of dollars in R&D and funding new companies like Magic Leap. This future will be the user interface for IoT, Smart Cities, autonomous cars, robots, drones, and your TV. This is a big deal and Robert will take you through what mixed reality is and how it will change every business. Learn more about Robert's speaking style and contact his agent at http://odemanagement.com/robert-scoble/Robert-Scoble.html ++++++++ SPEECH ABSTRACT #2: "The Next Two Clicks of Moore's Law." Over the next four years, or two clicks of Moore's Law, a ton about our technology world will change. Scoble will bring you the best from his travels visiting R&D labs, startups, and innovators around the world. He views the world through his rose-colored-mixed-reality glasses, which will be the new user interface for self driving cars, Smart Cities, IoT, and many other things in our world. He'll send you off with some lessons for companies both large and small. ++++++++ SPEECH ABSTRACT #3: "Personalized Meaning: What is Augmented Reality For?" As we enter a far more technological world where even cars drive themselves, I predict we'll see a blowback toward the analog, more authentic world. What role does augmented reality play in both worlds? Get Scoble's insight into where augmented reality is going, see tons of real-world demos, and understand what he means by 'personalized meaning.' Ahh wow, former Morton resident, so learnt things sometimes did make it to Peoria before the Coasts. Peoria’s a great town, anxious to get back for a visit and see all the I-74 improvements near East Peoria (or the “Rick Baker” corner) and see all the Riverfront improvements, and the Adams St. fix-ups, ie. the Chiefs stadium area. Anything new in Pekin? And my how Morton has jazzed up, near the Cat plant. The Coasters (LA and NYC, and parts of South Florida), always view the Midwest as flyover country, but they aren’t very cosmopolitan, nor very educated, as Peoria is the stuff.
Hey Steve, I just did a documentaryish-like script for a video production on Peoria Charter Coach history (History Channel quality), came out quite nice and going to do something for RL Nelson I think (on the docket at least). I can send a copy if wish.
Congrats on the book, Scoble. Peoria talk but me in a happy mood, so no snark today. 🙂 The fact you hit Peoria first is a good omen.

Peoria feels sorry for the rest of the world, the unhip part, the non-Peorian. We can’t help it if we are in the lead, but remember: the lead dog pulls the most weight.
We are honored in the PeoriaArea, including Morton and Eureka, Grooveland and Germantown Hills, Goofy Ridge and Fort Creve Couer, to be the first enlightened entities for the New Super Blog as blueprinted in this Naked Conversations manifesto book.

Well you know, lead dog sure, but minus Creve Couer and parts of Pekin. Tho I heard downtown Pekin made a comeback? No more River ratty feel? And Eureka is sorta too far to be Peoria Area, well ok maybe. Forgot Tremont tho, least not the old 121 route two-lane high-speed death-march anymore. And I will strangle anyone who includes Bloomington/Normal in the Peoria area mix. 😉 Some people even rope Canton into that, egads. What happens there except half the town hanging around in JC Penny’s parking lots? And what’s this I hear about another mall out near Willow Knolls? When’d that happen? Just curious. 🙂

The Shoppes at Grand Prarie went up a couple of years ago–now every other town nearby is copying the outdoor shopping mall concept (Which is quite silly in the middle of a midwestern winter–i guess they’re counting on global warming.)
And I-74 eastbound is a pleasure to drive on now. It’s nice to be able to have a merge lane, rather than just fly around a corner hoping noone is coming. Westbound is still a mess–wait a year for that to get done.
Oh, and they painted the bridge gray. WTF?!? And Pekin is still to be avoided.

Gray, ouch. Still lit at night? Yeah, Pekin still to be avoided (that seemingly will never change), tho had some good friends and the wild Duran Duran Aqua Extra-Hold hairspray Modded 80s kiddo times there, the whole New Waver/Mod/Cornchippy vs. Burnouts era and hanging at Hardee’s era. Pekin Mall still hanging on? Hard to believe but actually a time when mall-ratting at the Pekin Mall was cool. Outdoor mall? Ack, seems crazy. Outlet’ish tho? Kenneth Cole’s at decent prices, that sorta thing?
And gawd, I see Phil Luciano is still around, that guy annonys me even more than Scoble, fake’ish gushy stories and pumped-up ego, all trying to be funny, when he’s so obviously not. Teri’s good, but a shadow of her former hubby. PJS needs new blood.
fly around a corner hoping noone is coming
Oh gosh, yeah, glad that’s gone, so many times near-death experiences, back in the Adams St. Cat days. Tho took Bob Michael lots when at East Peoria Data Processing.
Anyways, I shouldn’t clutter up this blog with Peoria talk. Congrats on the book tho.

Hey Guys,
I did a search on Pekin Mall and ended up here, with you guys.
Could you tell me about Pekin? Why is it to be avoided. Whats with Pekin?
How about Pekin mall? Never been there, but I heard it was close. I have a business at Northwoods Mall and thought about expanding to other malls. Your feed back would be appreciated! Thanks Guys!
