The Internet Explorer blog continues to rock and roll. Today Uche Enuha posts and gathers more than 80 comments. On what? Deleting browsing history. You know there’s a lot of interest in IE when it gathers that many comments on what most of us would think is a rudimentary feature.

  3. I’d rather see the IE team work on how to make UI responsive with Ajax apps (like the Stop button actually putting the user back in control), rather than come up with an extremely poor UI design for an unexciting feature (that should have been there forever already).

  7. I seriously can’t believe that the IE blog is so popular. It’s kinda amazing considering the immense Firefox, Opera, Maxthon Community. Morover this very feature is available in the above mentioned browswers. 80 Comments seems amazing, well not so if they were explaining a revolutionary new feature but still!

    I need to blog sometime later about how IE is trying it’s best to maintain supremacy in the browser wars but Cheerio Robert!

I’ve noticed there are a lot of people who have no interest in techie tips and tricks in general, but will stop what they’re doing and listen very carefully if you’re talking about how to delete browser history. “And the temp files, how do you make sure they’re all gone, so that, you know, my hard drive doesn’t fill up or anything?”

  13. Doug: what’s worse is my son’s friends knew how to do this when they were seven. And, yes, they were surfing adult sites (they did this at a friends’ house and he admitted it to me later). Why did they do that? Their teacher said “don’t go to whitehouse.com.”

    Of course that made seven-year-olds curious. Sigh.

    IE Blog what? All I see is spin and zillions of comments on ‘start doing something already’. Your spin doctors doubling as blogs are starting to lose their power, the newness of the “naked conversations” have wore off, just look at say Major Nelson and John’s blogs, all spin, and with that team — unprofessional slam-dancing.

    Plus this is just a Firefox remake/ripoff.

Man, the “blog experiment” at Microsoft has failed, group blogs, and PM blogs, don’t work, aren’t updated, don’t share anything of use/value, and the personality blogs are all spin, rants and/or self-promoing. Very hard to find much in terms of useful information anymore, you get far better info from the journos and for-pay research reports. Channel 9 best of the lot, per se, but it’s really hard to call it a blog, community site forum, doubling as marketingese, yes. Predictable. But the mere act of conversation, makes lesser minds ‘feel better’ even though nothing has really changed.
