CES is coming up next week. Believe it or not, it’s big. How do I know that? Cause finding hotel rooms is tough (we found some, thank you to our readers!)
I’ve been thinking about how to do some sort of event there. I have Thursday night open and was just about to announce something, but then I saw Doc Searls linking to a CES Unconference idea. Ahh, a CES 2006 Wiki! Ahh, a CESCamp! How fun!
So, I’ll bring my Tablet PCs to some sort of event on Thursday evening. I hear the Tablet PC MVPs are looking to get into trouble with me that evening. I’m off to the Wiki to see which event we’ll crash. How about you, what are you going to during CES week? I’m stuck in Vegas from January 3 through January 7.
Scoble: just wanted to say that I’m sold on the tablet pc…i actually tested one with a colleague in office and I’m sold…
I think it’s an amazing piece of equipment BUT u guys just don’t market it right…u don’t find many ads. for it, roadshows, or even actual devices arnd…
I’ll be buying one in 2006…probably like those fujitsu slate ones…I don’t like the ones that twist cause that really negates the whole idea of the tablet…here’s hoping to some great tablet stuff in Vista…how about a video with the team?

I hear the Tablet PC MVPs are looking to get into trouble with me that evening.
The incestuous tech conferencing Tablet meet-ups never seemingly ends. And I’d bet, I could name nearly all of the attendees. (Hint: same as years past, minus the usual Executive turnover and add-in’s).
If one thing is certain in 2006, nothing in the Tablet scene will ever change, no breakout apps (no Apps of Fire), no buzz, no marketshare leaps, no consumer or retail strategy–forever stuck in niche, no real new blood, just the same cast of characters, repeating the same dead-tired script endlessly, only now pinning their (soon to be dashed) hopes and dreams on Vista (before it was Lonestar).
