Developers love Scott Guthrie

I meet a lot of geeks and talk about a lot of things, but lately I’ve been hearing “Scott Guthrie is my favorite Microsoft guy” lately a lot more. Here Shawn Wildermuth, the ADO.NET guy, says just that. What earned Shawn’s praise? The Visual Studio 2005 Web Application Project Preview that Scott put up.

  1. Scott is the bridge between the developer and the Visual Studio Team.

What Scott makes so special is that he *really* knows where his team is working on and where it’s all about in the real world.

Did I mention his presentation skills… ok enough… Scott rules, period.

  3. I haven’t met Scott, but recently his blog has been an absolute must read on ASP.NET. He posts information often and it is very detailed and incredibly useful in my day-to-day development. He also presents the information in a very humble, honest, and for-the-betterment of the community way.

That being said, I would say he is my favorite Microsoft Guy.

  5. A bit off topic, but not really. My favorite MSFTie is Jeffrey Snover, daddy of Monad. The guy’s enthusiasm and appreciation of the needs of hardcore CLI junkies could actually pull some gearheads away from Linux, I think. At least for a little while…

  7. Scott is an absolute Microsoft “Hero”! He answers ALL email sent from his blog and from people he doens’t even know! He has personally helped me on a number of projects and we’ve never met. His is the “best of the best” as far as putting a human face on MS!

  9. I was just remarking to friends a few days ago about how fast Scott found and responded to a post of mine.

Not merely highly responsive but also proactive — that’s very cool.
