Live Messenger cat is out of the bag

I just saw the Windows Live Messenger blog. For the instant messenger crowd.

  1. yawn! another beta product we still cannot use. Go to the blog and be told that MS is deleting the sign up requests? holy crap!

Maybe this is why my hotmail beta request hasn’t found me. I have watched the Kahuna interview on channel 9 like 6 times and evertime more I really feel I need this beta in my life. it’s going to shame gmail back to momma and I still dont get to use it. sigh

A huge problem microsoft has is between the hype machine and the availability of the product. When Steve Jobs gets up and does his bit the crowd oooes and awes we all know that what we are seeing is going to be in the store shortly. two weeks later I went out and bought one. insanely great.

I saw the whidbey (aka VS 2005) TWO VS Live conferences ago. the hype was hot and thick then. it ran unabated for another year before MS announced it was going to be out in mid 2005. by Mid 2005 (aka june) it was still not hear and the hype machine had switched to tired mode and I just stopped listening. my VS 2005 MSDN shippment is still sitting on my desk unopened, unused, and sadly now unwanted. there is no magic left in what microsoft puts out.
