I am down in Silicon Valley all week. I’m looking to meet with folks who are doing something interesting with software. Are you? Wanna meet?
I’ll be working at Microsoft’s cafeteria. Hey, it has Wifi and a Starbucks (and I know where all the power outlets are). What else do you need?

It’s a shame that you’ve gone so far downhill in the last six months, Robert. I thought you had drunk the koolaid then, but your posting is absolutely terrible now.
Every post is a rave about a Microsoft product, a dig at Google or a comparison of how much better Microsoft Product A is better than Google Product B.
Are you just going to give up the pretense of being an independent blogger, or are you going to *attempt* to be somewhat impartial here? I don’t think it’s fair that you call this your personal blog – with the content of the posts on your front page you are clearly blogger for the Microsoft line only.

Sorry, but I think that’s rubbish. I don’t think Scoble has ever pretended to be ‘impartial’ – he’s not a news organisation, he’s a human being with opinions on things! And, ur, obviously if he’s a Microsoft Evangelist you’d hope he’d be fairly up on Microsoft and their products… otherwise what’s the point of them employing him?
And anyway… just looking through the very recent posts for *today* I see numerous mentions of Flock… hardly ‘the Microsoft line only’

What’s with the “We”?
You’ve been quite consistant when speaking a “personal we” of Maryam and himself. So is this more of a journalistic “we”? An editorial “we”?
(Asked with respect.)
As for Dominic’s comments…. well, let’s just say opinions may differ on that, sir. Have you only started reading him since 2003? He HAS changed. (Like most of us I might add.) But yes, there is an obvious Microsoft slant to EVERYTHING he posts anymore. For better or worse.

Dave: the “we” means that Maryam and I are together down here.
Ron: my tag line for the past two years has said “Microsoft geek blogger” not “independent blogger” or anything else. Not sure why you expect something different.
That said, I sure don’t hold the corporate line. Or, do you think that talking about Flock goes over well in Redmond?

Scoble, I’m just sorry MS is making you work in the cafeteria–I thought they were better funded than that. If you make enough money doing that to get away now and then with your software buddies, try Amber India (the one on El Camino Real, humbler but even tastier than the fancy one in San Jose).
Outlook has been crashing on me several times a day since the latest service pack, but I suspect rebooting my computer during conference calls is not what you mean by “doing interesting things with software.” Still, while you’re here, enjoy the Valley. Even if you’re a flack for Satan, you’re one of my favorite bloggers (besides, Satan makes good software… most of it, anyway). Be sure to stop at In and Out for a burger-shake-n-fries at least once before you go back to the wet North.

Dave – fair enough, I haven’t read Scoble that far back. But IIRC he hasn’t always posted as Microsoft employee, so you’d expect things to change..?

K.G.: they don’t make me work in the cafeteria, it’s just that I enjoy working there more than being stuck in an office.
